Welcome to my 1st Tip Tuesday!!
It's kind of like Manic Monday....BUT...on a Tuesday....haha!

I have gotten quite a few questions lately on cleaning makeup brushes.
First off.....there are SOOOOOOO many ways to clean your brushes!!
Like...I think there are seriously 1,000!!!

So what is the easiest...cheapest....and BEST way to do it you ask????

I think this might seriously blow your mind with how simple and effective this cleaning method is....
All it takes are a few household items you probably already have in your pantry!!

SCORE!!!!!

What You Need:
- Cup or Bowl
- 1 Cup Warm Water
- 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Dish Soap (I use Dawn)
- Dirty Brushes
- Paper Towel or Dry Hand Towel

Step 1:

Mix the Vinegar, Dish Soap, and Warm Water in your cup or bowl.

Step 2:
Dip and Swirl your dirty brushes in the mixture. You can plop them all in at one time and let them soak for 20 minutes, or you can do them one at a time and swirl them around until you reach the desired cleansing effect.

Step 3:
Rinse Under Warm Water. Repeat Step 1 & 2 if your brushes are super dirty.

Step 4:
Pat Dry with a Paper Towel or Hand Towel and then lay flat to dry overnight.

Step 5:
Happy DANCE!!!!!

Seriously...How EASY is that!!!????

Here are a few of my brushes after their last bath.

 Just like NEW!!!

Now... don't be scared of the VINEGAR part....the brushes do NOT smell like vinegar at ALL when you are done! The dish soap masks the smell.
This mixture literally sucks the makeup off the brushes.

Its....MAGIC!
There's some SERIOUS Hogwart's stuff going on here!

I have used SO many different types of sprays, wipes, solids, soaps, etc. to clean my brushes and honestly, this is the easiest and best way that I have found.

PLUS...HELLO CHEAP!

If you don't have any dish soap (but...I just wonder how you clean your dishes...) You can substitute with baby shampoo!
I think the dish soap works the best though...since it helps cleanse the facial oils and greasy build up off the brush.

I recommend deep cleaning your brushes AT LEAST once a month! Ideally, every 2 weeks would be best so bacteria doesn't build up and take over your brushes! You can't be too careful and CLEAN when it comes to makeup items you use on your face.

I see it like this...Why in the world would you use the SAME dirty washcloth on your face and body over...and over...and OVER again without ever washing it??

Totally GROSS huh??!
But it's the same idea when you use your makeup brushes on your face daily without taking the time to wash them!
If you have acne prone skin, I would definitely recommend cleaning your brushes as often as you can. Once a week would probably be best just to keep acne causing bacteria at bay.
Another step I take to keep my brushes clean is to use a brush cleansing spray DAILY after each use. This not only helps keep the makeup and bacterial from building up, but it also makes my makeup application go on easier (Plus it makes them smell AWESOME!).
You simply spritz your brush with the cleansing spray one or two times and wipe them off on a clean paper towel and let them air dry.

You can drop some serious $$$ on brush cleansing sprays....but don't fall into the hype!!!

These two are good choices:
Cinema Secrets Professional Brush Cleaner  (HERE)
NYX On the Spot Makeup Brush Cleaner (HERE).

Isn't it nice to know that you can clean your makeup brushes easily and effectively for only PENNIES!???
It is seriously life changing!!
Why not try it when you probably already have all of the items needed in that pantry of yours!??
Get to cleanin ladies!!!!
